Don't make my mistake...

As a solo founder, there is one big mental block I'm going to have to overcome if I'm going to really reach the heights I hope for.


It's more of a statement that I need to eradicate from my psyche;


๐—œ ๐—–๐—”๐—ก ๐——๐—ข ๐—ง๐—›๐—”๐—ง ๐— ๐—ฌ๐—ฆ๐—˜๐—Ÿ๐—™.


Ironically, it's a sentiment I always discourage my customers from adopting, but I need to take my own advice. The reality is that there are a lot of things we can do ourselves.

In my personal life, I've adopted a "pay a man" mentality, where I accept that people are better than me at lots of things and I'm happy to pay for their expertise because it offers value and enables me to focus on the things I'm good at.


Yet professionally, whenever I need a video edited, a thumbnail creating or a blog writing...I do it myself.


"I'm not paying someone - I can do that myself" says my brain.


But to achieve any kind of scale, you have to understand cost and value of your time. This is something I'm desperately trying to train into my professional life.


Moreover, and perhaps the most important part of the equation is that you probably can do it, but....will you. Time and time again I've seen people dismiss the idea of paying for something because they can do it themselves "for free", but the reality is that when you speak to that same person six months on, they never got around to it. Equally, they'd have paid the third party less than the business would have been paying them (per hour) and it would have taken the third party a fraction of the time.
